DGUT-UoN Joint Doctoral Training Programme Admission Prospectus

  

东莞理工学院是广东东莞的第一所普通本科院校,是中国教育部首批卓越工程师教育培养计划实施高校和新工科研究与实践示范高校,是广东省和东莞市政府重点支持建设的高水平理工科大学,诺贝尔物理学奖获得者杨振宁博士任名誉校长。

Dongguan University of TechnologyDGUTis the first undergraduate university established in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. It is the first batch of university awarded for the National “Excellent Engineer Training Program” and “Research and Practice in New Engineering Disciplines” as a demonstrative university that approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education. DGUT is a high-level university of science and engineering which jointly constructed by Guangdong Provincial Government and Dongguan Municipal Government. Professor Chenning Yang, a Nobel Laureate in Physics, is the Honorary President of DGUT.

学校建立了以工学为重点,管理学、文学、理学、经济学、法学、教育学等多学科协调发展的学科专业体系;设有15个学院、48个本科专业。学校现有教职工1418人,近两年高层次人才引育成效显著,共计引进海内外高层次人才和专任教师、优秀青年博士400多人,其中中国科学院、中国工程院、德国科学院院士10人。2015—2017年科研总经费达9亿多元,学校建设有动力工程及工程热物理、机械工程、环境工程、化学工程、电路与系统、计算机应用技术等6个广东省重点学科。

DGUT has established a discipline specialty system that focuses on science and engineering, with multidisciplinary coordinated development of management, literature, science, economics, law, pedagogy and other disciplines. It has 15 faculties that consist of 48 undergraduate programs and  conducted by 1418 staff members. High-level talents’ recruitment has achieved remarkable results for the past two years and DGUT has recruited more than 400 high-level talents, full-time lecturers and outstanding young post-graduates from local and abroad, which include 10 academicians from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering and German Academy of Sciences. From 2015 to 2017, a total of RMB900 million research funding had accumulated. Infrastructure development for 6 key disciplines that includes power engineering and engineering thermophysics, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, electronic circuit and system, and computer application technology in Guangdong Province.

2018年起,东莞理工学院与诺丁汉大学开展联合培养博士项目,实行双校培养,双导师指导。诺丁汉大学负责联合培养博士生的招生录取、学籍管理、学位授予等工作,联合培养博士生在诺丁汉大学的监管下,于诺丁汉大学完成6个月至1年的基础课程;之后由东莞理工学院与诺丁汉大学双方导师共同指导其在东莞理工学院完成至少2年的科学研究工作;最后半年返回诺丁汉大学完成论文和答辩等工作。

Started from 2018, DGUT and UoN have established a Joint Doctoral Training Programme, which implements a dual-university cultivation and dual-supervisors supervision. UoN is responsible for the admission, student status management and degree conferment for the joint doctoral training candidates. The Students shall complete a six (6) months/ one (1) year doctoral foundation course at UoN under the monitoring, supervision, and management of UoN. Upon the completion of the foundation course, the students shall complete the major research work at DGUT for a minimum period of two (2) years under the joint supervision of DGUT and UoN. The Students shall return to UoN for the last half year to complete his or her dissertation and defense.

二、申请方式Application

(一)诺丁汉大学招生录取Admission of UoN

诺丁汉大学负责联合培养博士生的招生录取工作,具体招生要求与条件请以诺丁汉大学为准。

UoN is responsible for the admission of joint doctoral students, and the admission is in accordance with entry requirements of UoN.

1. 申请条件Application Requirements

申请者必须满足以下最低申请条件:

Applicants shall fulfil the listed minimum application requirements:

1)招生对象:硕士或本科毕业生(应届生需在入学前取得相应学位)。

Prospective Students: Candidates with masters or undergraduates degree (Fresh graduate shall be conferred with corresponding degree before admission).

2)语言要求:IELTS 6.0分及以上,单科不低于5.5TOEFL 79分及以上,口试不低于20,听力/写作不低于17,阅读不低于18PTE学术英语55及以上,单科不低于51

Language requirements: IELTS overall 6.0 or above, with no less than 5.5 in any band; TOEFL overall 79 or above, with no less than 20 in Speaking, 17 in Listening / Writing, and 18 in Reading; PTE Academic English overall 55 or above, with no less than 51 in each band.

3)成绩要求:请根据申请专业参照诺丁汉大学(包括英国校区和马来西亚校区)《2018/19诺丁汉大学研究生课程手册》具体要求。

(二)联合培养博士项目注册Registration of Joint Doctoral Training Programme

成功申请东莞理工学院-诺丁汉大学联合培养博士项目的全日制博士生,向诺丁汉大学提交《UNMC-DGUT PhD Research Scholarships Application Form 2018》,向东莞理工学院提交《东莞理工学院-诺丁汉大学联合培养博士项目申请表》等材料,经双方导师同意、两校联合管理委员会审核通过后签署联合培养奖学金协议,并办理相应注册手续。

Full-time PhD students that admitted for DGUT-UoN Joint Doctoral Training Programme shall submit UNMC-DGUT PhD Research Scholarships Application Form 2018to UNMCsubmit “DGUT-UoN Joint Doctoral Training Programme Application Form” and other supportive materials to DGUT. Once the application is approved by both supervisors as well as Joint Management Committee of DGUT and UoN, the admitted student will sign the Joint Doctoral Training Programme Scholarship Agreement, and complete corresponding registration procedures.

 

三、奖学金Scholarship

1. 东莞理工学院设立联合培养博士计划奖学金,为符合奖学金要求的联合培养博士生提供在东莞理工学院学习期间的奖学金。

DGUT has set up “Joint Doctoral Training Programme Scholarship” for joint training doctoral students. The Student who fulfills the scholarship requirements may receive the scholarship during their studies at DGUT.

2. 符合《东莞市名校研究生培养(实践)补助资金管理实施细则(试行)》(东府办〔2017106号)申请条件的联合培养博士,可同时获得东莞市相关补助资金。

Joint doctoral training students who fulfill the application requirements for the Dongguan City Graduates Training (Practice) Subsidy Fund Management Implementation Rules (Trial)(Dongguan Municipal Government Office 2017 No. 106) may receive relevant subsidy from Dongguan Municipal Government.
